The aligners generations

Additional orthodontic add-ons are not incorporated and teeth movements rely on the plastic on an aligner alone. Thus, only very limited treatment is possible and treatment results are difficult to predict.

Elementary orthodontic add-ons such as attachments are used to assist treatment and facilitate teeth movements making treatment more predictable.

A broad range of orthodontic add-ons, such as pre-activation points, elastic, bite ramps are automatically integrated into the digital treatment plan which together with scientifically proven treatment protocols makes treatment accurate and predictable, successfully treating easy to difficult cases.

Successful treatment depends on multiple players

  • Doctor's skills

  • Treatment plan

  • Aligners and other auxiliaries

  • Your compliance

Together with partner doctors, we create high-quality individual treatment plans that integrate all orthodontic auxiliaries required for efficient treatment.

Ordoline patients receive durable and comfortable aligners which straighten teeth according to their treatment plans.

Ordoline partner doctors undergo certification and training to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for successful treatment. They verify provided treatment plan, prepare patients for the treatment, and oversee the whole treatment process. This ensures that treatment goes smoothly and is adjusted if needed.

However, it all comes down to you wearing aligners for the prescribed 22 hours to make them work.

We achieve the desired results through close collaboration with your doctor

At Ordoline, we understand that treatment is primarily carried out by your treating doctor as opposed to the aligners. Our experienced partner doctors ensure your diagnosis, treatment plan assessment, and the treatment itself are carried out to the utmost standards.

Besides sets of aligners, doctors who work with Ordoline receive constant and reliable clinical support, all the necessary instructions, and treatment guides. Think of it this way, Ordoline represents the co-pilot, and your doctor is the main pilot of the car, with Ordoline supporting the doctor from the start of your treatment all the way through to the end of this journey.

History of teeth straightening

Aligners

21st Century

With the introduction of aligners, orthodontic treatment has been redefined. Aligners are removable, nearly invisible orthodontic devices made from clear medical plastic which push teeth into the correct position. They offer more precise and more comfortable treatment with a shorter treatment duration than all the predecessors. To treat more complex cases, additional orthodontic tools are used as well.

Modern braces

20th Century

Modern braces with adhesive brackets expanded teeth straightening accessibility. Made of metal brackets and wire, braces apply pull movement to align crooked teeth. With braces, orthodontists could treat more patients than ever before, and they are successfully used even to this day.

Fully banded

20th Century

In the 70s and 80s fully banded braces with steel bands placed around every tooth to hold brackets were common. Fitting each band was time-consuming, so getting a full set of braces was usual an 8-hour ordeal. Each tooth had space created a week before banding by inserting a spacer, an elastic ring that forced each tooth apart.

Crib wire

19th Century

A semi-circular device that was placed directly on the teeth to straighten them Inspired by Pierre Fauchard book "The Surgeon's Dentist".

Fouchard’s Bandeau

17th Century

In 1728, French Dentist Pierre Fauchard published a book called the “The Surgeon Dentist” with an entire chapter on ways to straighten teeth. Fauchard used a device called a “Bandeau,” a horseshoe-shaped piece of precious metal which helped expand the arch.

Gold Wire Egyptians

900 B.C.

Did you know that these advances are only a small part of orthodontic treatment history that dates back as far as ancient Egypt? The first attempt at fixing these teeth was found in the remains of ancient Egyptian mummies. Many of the mummies found had metal bands around the teeth, with catgut tied to them to provide pressure for moving them.
